Ritu Kapoor, NP JC

Ritu Kapoor is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with Masters in Nursing from Emory University in 2013. She is also a member of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners for DOT. Prior to joining Pandya Medical Center, she practiced in outpatient urgent care, family medicine, and internal medicine for 9 years in Gwinnett County. She has extensive experience in managing chronic and acute illnesses in the adult and geriatric population. She is passionate about the prevention and management of chronic diseases and promoting health in communities through lifestyle modification. Ritu believes that patients are the most important team player on their healthcare team and many chronic illnesses can be prevented by implementing healthy eating habits, promoting physical activity, and addressing mental health issues in the community.

Her research focus during graduate school included the impact of a healthy lifestyle and Metformin in preventing gestational diabetes in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Ritu has been living in Cumming with her husband and two daughters since 2002. Her older daughter is attending Medical College of Georgia and her younger daughter is attending Georgia Tech. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening, walking, hiking, cooking, traveling, and volunteering.
